How to Get Direct Admissions into BITS Pilani?
BITS Pilani offers direct admissions to candidates who have secured the first rank in central and state board’s examinations. The first ranked candidates get direct admissions into any programme as per their choice.
Students who apply under the Direct Admission category have to fill the BITSAT application form within the specific time period provided by BITS. Failing to do so, a candidate may lose their chance to get considered for admission.
Additionally, students are required to share a valid proof of board toppers like a mark sheet and a letter from the board. Later, to verify candidate details, BITS Pilani cross-checks the details of topper students from their respective boards.
How to Get Admission to BITS Pilani?
According to the different programmes at BITS Pilani, admission procedures are different.
First Degree Programmes
These programmes are specifically designed for 10+2 candidates. To get admission in BITS Pilani First Degree Programmes, students have to clear the BITSAT exam. Additionally, there are two other options, including board toppers direct admission and admission through SAT. Admission through SAT is applicable for NRI candidates only.

BITSAT-2021
BITSAT-2021 is an online test to get admission in the First Degree Programmes of BITS Pilani. Admission to all three campuses, Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad, are made through this exam.
The BITSAT Exam consists of MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions) type questions from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, English, and Logical Reasoning.
Higher Degree (HD) Programmes
To pursue HD Programmes in BITS Pilani, students have to pass the GATE / GPAT Exam and BITS HD Online Test as well. Following are the Higher Degree Programmes offered at BITS institutes:
MBA in Business Analytics
Eligibility for MBA
A candidate should have a degree from the following or equivalent: B.Tech./B.E./First Degree of BITS Pilani/B.Arch./B.Pharm./MCA/M.Sc.
Percentage criteria: At least 60% aggregate or equivalent CGPA is required. Final-year students can also apply. However, they have to submit the original copies of the results by 1st October 2021 and fulfil the above-mentioned criteria.
The applicants are also required to have mathematics or statistics subjects in 12th with a minimum of 60% in any of these subjects. Also, exposure to a programming language is a plus.
How to Apply for an MBA in Business Analytics at BITS Pilani?
To pursue MBA at BITS Pilani, there is a different test called BAAT: Business Analytics Aptitude Test. After clearing BAAT, candidates will go through a personal interview based on their performance in the BAAT.
The final selection will be made considering the following criteria:
- BAAT Results
- Personal Interview performance and
- Academic history like CAT/XAT/GMAT results (if available), with prior/equivalent experience.
Doctoral (PhD) Programme
Doctoral (PhD.) Programmes are available in:
- Engineering: Computer Science, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Electrical & Electronics
- Science: Chemistry, Biological Sciences, Mathematics, Physics
- Pharmacy
- Economics & Finance, Humanities & Social Sciences, Management
Minimum Eligibility Qualifications for Doctoral (PhD.) Programmes
- Minimum 60% aggregate in either of the following: ME/M.Tech/MPharm/MBA/MPhil/ MSc/BE/BPharm or an equivalent degree
- For admission into Humanities and Social Sciences, an MA degree with at least 55% aggregate is required.
